My little man is growing up!

I never realized how fast children grow, until I had my own. I absolutely cannot believe that he is already 18 months old! It just seemed like yesterday that I was pregnant with him welcoming Robert home from his 1st deployment. We have all come a long way.

Thompson is definitely my little dare devil. He is not afraid of anything. Part of me loves that about him, but part of me wants him to be scared and want his momma. I know, I know... And yes, he still runs to me if he gets hurt. I love that. And I know that I am going to miss it.

Here are some of his stats from the past 18 months:

Thompson was born on September 30, 2007, 9:18 am, weighing in at 7lbs and was 19 1/2 inches long. When he arrived, he didn't cry -- He was bright-eyed looking around at his bright, new world. That was the moment I knew what a good baby he would be.

We traveled back to California 10 days after he was born. He was great! He loved to try and stand since he was a few months old. When Robert left on April 5, 2008, Thompson was just learning to crawl. A few days after, he finally mastered it. On April 7, 2008 Thompson had his first tooth. Now, we have 13!

A few days before his 10-month birthday, Thompson took his first steps! I was amazed at how fast he was developing. It didn't take long and he was running around NaNa and Papa's house.

Thompson loves to call me "Ma" for some unknown reason. Sometimes it is "Momma" when he is tired, but mostly "Ma". Robert always makes the joke when Thompson yells Ma! Robert chimes in "The Meatloaf!!". It is off of the movie the Wedding Crashers. It annoys me, but I can't help but smile. Thompson's vocabulary is awesome. Here are some of his daily words: Ma, Momma, Dada, NaNa, Papa, hi, juice, milk, drink, please, thank you, no, yes, 'D', ball, cow, fishy, duck, dog, cat, and eat. He is always trying to say something, so I know we have a fast learner. He also can use sign language to tell me "more" and "drink".

He loves watching his "D's", playing on the playground, sliding down the slide, and swinging. Now, he is into pushing his tractor...??? He loves to take a bath and will run for the bathroom when you mention it. Goldfish crackers are his favorite snack. He will literally shriek in the store when we walk past them! :) He is not a huge fan of chicken. But he does love mashed potatoes, cereal, nutrigrain bars, fruit loops, vegetables, sandwhiches, biscuits, apple butter, and desserts! Ha! It cracks me up. If you have any type of food, you better be prepared to share. He is a big mooch! It wouldn't matter if he had just ate a gallon of food, he would still be eyeing your plate! He loves to talk on the cell phone. He will pretend that his NaNa is on the other end and tell her all about his day.

When he was little, he loved to scare people. I think everyone in town knew Thompson's scaring trick. Anytime we would see someone they would say, "Thompson, Scare me!" And he would wait a few seconds and yell "Oooh!" So cute! I loved that more than anything. Every now and then he will still scare you!

At his 18 month check up today, he weighed 23lbs and was 32.5 inches. Apparently his height is really good (50-75th percentile) but his weight is a little "petite" (only 10th percentile). So, it is my mission to fatten up my little boy! He is now back on the "Southern Boy" diet -- Meat and Potatoes! :) No, the dr. didn't seem at all worried and said that his recent sickness probably caused him a little weight loss. Robert thinks that it is because he never sits for 2 seconds, he is always running around!

Anyways, we are watching some great movies tonight -- Marley & Me, Twilight, and Slumdog Millionare. I am very excited!
